News Stories Mental Health Awareness Week This week is Mental Health Awareness Week – a national event that aims to help people understand and prioritise their mental health. Staff and students mark VE Day Last Thursday, 8th May, staff and students at Withernsea High School joined the rest of the country in commemorating the 80th anniversary of VE Day. Join our PTFA We are excited to announce a brand-new Parent, Teacher and Friends Association (PTFA) at our school. Attendance rewards As part of a continuing programme of incentives and rewards, students who achieved 100% attendance in the final two weeks before the Easter holidays were entered into a prize draw. From market trader to mentor: Entrepreneur guides students' enterprise projects An entrepreneur, whose early failures helped to shape future successes in the world of business, was the source of inspiration for high school students during a recent enterprise workshop. Year 6 Transition: Parents’ Meeting Thank you to the parents/carers and Year 6 pupils who attended the formal introduction to Withernsea High School last Thursday, 24th April. Students maintain momentum of strong attendance The improvement in the school's attendance figures has continued into the summer term with 93.5 per cent overall attendance achieved during the first week back. We are delighted to share an update from the leaders of our Paris trip who are currently accompanying a group of around 50 GCSE French and Dance students as they spend an unforgettable weekend immersed in French culture. WHS Connected - School Magazine A new edition of WHS Connected, our termly school magazine, has just been released. Online Mental Health Workshops During the Easter holidays, the East Riding Mental Health Support Team is running a number of online workshops for parents/carers. These will focus on ‘Behaviour as a form of communication’, ‘Routines and rhythms’ and ‘Understanding anxiety’.
