"I have been a governor at Withernsea High School since March 2003 and Chair of Governors since the autumn term of 2011.

My husband and I have lived in Patrington for 33 years and our four children have all attended Withernsea High School. They all enjoyed their time at our school and benefitted from the excellent all-round education that the school provides.

I passionately believe that our students all deserve the very best education we can give them and Withernsea High School continues to deliver this to our students.

Our students also benefit from excellent pastoral support throughout their time in our care.

I am the Child Protection and Safeguarding Governor, Chair of the Quality Assurance Committee and Disciplinary Committee.

My background is medical, having worked as a Registered Nurse for many years before qualifying as a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. I was the Clinical Service Manager for the Community Pain Management Service in Hull for nine years until recently.

I have been a Justice of the Peace for twenty six years now, recently elected as Chair of the Family Panel."

"I have been a governor for many years, initially at Hull College and then at Sirius Academy, Hull.

I was honoured to be awarded with an MBE for services to education in 2010.

I have been a governor at Withernsea High School for over five years now and I am particularly keen in encouraging an educational approach which is underpinned by the principle that education can and should make a positive change to young people's lives.

Having lived in Holderness for over 40 years, I understand the role the school has in the fabric of the local community with many generations being past pupils of Withernsea High School.

I understand how rural and coastal schools have their own challenges but I am aware of the many success stories of past pupils and believe the school is able to build on this success.

My professional career, which has spanned over 40 years, was within the NHS. My final full-time role being as a Director of Nursing, giving me understanding of the public service environment and where every person matters."

"I have been actively involved with Withernsea High School for many years and have now decided to become a governor to further support the school in its’ development in the areas of STEM and Careers Information Advice and guidance.

Since 2012 I have co-run the annual Girls into Engineering events with Withernsea, hosted by Wilberforce College. I have run several STEM days at the school and believe that it is incumbent on the whole school community to help young adults understand the many options open to them as they progress through education.

In my professional life I am a chartered civil engineer and have worked in education since 1995 as a secondary school teacher, in apprentice training and now as an education consultant specialising in STEM delivery and resource development."

"I have worked at Withernsea High School since 2005 and during that time I have been a Teaching Assistant, a Teacher, and now the Deputy Safeguarding Lead.

My three sons attended Withernsea High School and I was a Parent Governor for a while before I was employed here.

I am passionate about inclusion and finding ways to support our young people to grow and thrive as they make their way through secondary school.

I believe that Withernsea High School is a very unique school and the education and wider support that we offer our students is second to none.

In my spare time, I enjoy holidaying in my motorhome, walking my dog, and watching rugby. I am the treasurer of our local Rugby Union team, Withernsea RUFC."
