Description:

We are seeking to appoint a highly committed and able Teacher of Music to join our good and improving school. Within the structure of a highly successful and supportive faculty you will help build the knowledge and understanding, and develop the skills of, our next generation of young people.

Withernsea High School is a state maintained 11-18 school located in a pleasant rural area just 30 minutes from Hull. In 2016 we moved into a £13 million state of the art building alongside a refurbishment of the traditional, spacious heart of our old school. All teachers have their own classrooms and the music department incorporates use of an IT suite and a performance space.

If you are passionate about teaching and learning, and are determined to help young people build solid foundations for their future, then this might be the opportunity you are looking for.

Title: Apprentice Science Laboratory Technician

Type: Temporary 24 month training programme from start date

Hours: 37 including one day off-site for training. Term time only.

Pay: £6.17 per hour (70% of SCP11 during training)

Closing date: Monday 10th December 2018

Description:

Withernsea High School is located in the pleasant, rural seaside town of Withernsea and serves the population of the town and surrounding villages.  The school is committed to raising standards and in its Ofsted 2016 Inspection it was found to be a Good school.

Ofsted made the following observations:

• The school is a calm and purposeful place
• Overall, pupils treat each other and adults with respect and this leads to effective personal development, behaviour and welfare.

We are looking to appoint an Apprentice Laboratory Technician for the Science Faculty. 

Duties to include supporting the Science Technicians to ensure the smooth day to day running of science lessons; providing technical an operational support and assisting teaching and support staff, and students in their science lessons. This will be under the direction of the Senior Science Technician.

This is an Apprenticeship role supported in working towards the Level 3 framework. It is a 24 month training programme (full time), 1 day per week training off site and 4 days in school. 

A GCSE good pass grade A*-C in English and Maths is desirable.

The Apprenticeship framework includes a balance of content in technical, business and interpersonal areas, designed to ensure apprentices have an appropriate set of skills to operate in today’s job roles.

Title:
Exam Invigilator

Type: Casual

Pay: Point 7 (£8.55 per hour)

Closing date: Monday 17th December 2018

Description:

We are seeking to appoint, on a casual basis, an Exam Invigilator to help with our busy exam season in May / June 2019.

There may also be further invigilation opportunities throughout the year for both internal and external exams.

Duties will include:  

• Supervising students under exam conditions
• Ensuring rules for candidates and the exam hall are adhered to
• The safe distribution / collection of exam papers
• Handing out stationery and other relevant equipment to candidates

No prior experience is necessary as full training will be provided for the successful applicant.
