Introduction


Withernsea High School is a co-educational, non-denominational secondary school based in Withernsea, East Riding of Yorkshire, for students aged 11-18.

Located approximately 18 miles to the east of Hull, Withernsea is a seaside town in a rural, countryside location on the east coast. The school serves the population of southern Holderness and currently educates around 720 pupils.

The school is committed to raising standards and in its Ofsted 2016 Inspection it was found to be a Good school. Ofsted made the following observations:

• The school is a calm and purposeful place

• Overall, pupils treat each other and adults with respect and this leads to effective personal development, behaviour and welfare.

PE and well-being apprentice

Contract type:

35 hours per week

60% of ERYC Grade 2 (£17,711 per annum pro rata)

Description:

Withernsea High School is located in the pleasant, rural seaside town of Withernsea and serves the population of the town and surrounding villages. 

The school is committed to raising standards and in its Ofsted 2016 Inspection it was found to be a Good school.

Ofsted made the following observations:

• Overall, pupils treat each other and adults with respect and this leads to effective personal development, behaviour and welfare.

Under the direction of the teacher, or line managers, and within the agreed educational plan, the post holder will undertake a range of duties which may include:

• Supporting the delivery of PE and School Sport;

• Supporting and leading PE lessons, lunch and playtime activities, clubs and events to raise the profile of PE and School Sport in Schools;

• Offering a range of extra- curricular clubs and activities;

• Increasing and promoting the amount of physical activity pupils participate in;

• Encouraging pupils to be more actively engaged in healthy active lifestyles

• Attending staff meetings, teacher training days, and training courses as appropriate.

• Undertaking any other duties that may reasonably be regarded as being commensurate with the grade and general purpose of the post.

The successful candidate will work towards the Level 2 Community Activator Coach Apprenticeship Standard. The school will support in-house-training, research for assignments, shadowing and mentoring during which you will complete the qualification with an external training provider through East Riding of Yorkshire Council. 

The training will be delivered within the school as well as a bi-weekly day release with the training provider. You will be assigned a Mentor who will be responsible for timetabling your activity. You will have guidance and support to complete on the job learning throughout the qualification and if applicable attend functional skills training

DT Food Technician

Description:

A Food Technician is required to work within our Design Technology Faculty. 

The postholder will be required to provide pupils and staff with equipment and materials, prepared and weighed out to required specifications and provide a site-wide laundry service. They will also be required to clean and maintain cooking utensils, worktops, cupboards, ovens, sinks and other equipment and facilities.

Previous experience of working within a food preparation/catering or educational environment would be highly desirable. Full training and support will be provided.
