5 Dropping a Subject

Occasionally, a student may come to feel that they have made a poor choice in one of their subjects or sometimes may feel overwhelmed by the volume of work involved.  It is possible to drop a subject after discussion with your subject teacher. Once the agreement has been reached, you must then obtain a form from the Sixth Form Office, which you complete, and make an appointment to see Dr. Ireland.  Dr. Ireland will then discuss with you your reasons for dropping the subject and, if she is in agreement, make arrangements for the subject to be removed from the student’s timetable.  Until Dr. Ireland has authorised the subject to be dropped you must continue to attend the lessons, or a very poor attendance record will result.
