Students rewarded for their commitment to learning

Towards the end of term, 150 students enjoyed a rewards trip to Flamingo Land in recognition of their outstanding commitment to learning.

Andrea Monaghan, trip organiser, said: “At Withernsea High School we know how important it is to acknowledge, celebrate and reward the outstanding effort and achievements of our students. As part of that programme of recognition, we were delighted to invite 150 students who had received the least number of written warnings in the school to take part in a trip to Flamingo Land.

There, the students were able to enjoy a day in the sunshine, exploring the zoo and going on the rides. A good time was had by all. One student said that they enjoyed the water rides the most - especially when the teachers were soaked to the skin!

It was such a pleasure to be able to offer this opportunity to students who have shown the most outstanding commitment to their education, and to their school community. The actions of these students, day in and day out, contribute enormously to making our school the best it can be.”
