Having completed full-time education to A-Level standard I undertook a two-year HND Business and Finance course at the then Humberside Polytechnic, Cottingham Road.

In 1989 I commenced work as a legal clerk. From 1992-96, I studied for a Law degree whilst working in Legal Practice on a full-time basis.

In 1997, I did a post-graduate qualification in Business and Solicitors' Accounts.

From 1998 to 2012 I was a practising Solicitor, specialising in family cases including resolution of finance matters in divorce cases.

In 2012 I was called to the bar (became a qualified Barrister).

From 2013 to present I have been a practising Barrister specialising in family cases, including finance settlements in divorce cases.

Since 2017 I have been the Head of Financial Team – in Barristers Chamber, Hull.

I have been a self-employed Barrister since 2013 but I will be retiring on the 31st March 2024.
