Governors' Awards 2019
Last Friday, parents and governors joined staff and students at Withernsea High School to recognise and celebrate a year of successes at the annual Governors' Awards Assembly.
The assembly brings the school community together at the very end of each academic year to celebrate achievement in all subjects across the curriculum.
Manchester Camerata bring a fiesta of fun to town
On Wednesday 17th July, Withernsea High School were privileged to host a performance by the world-famous Manchester Camerata Orchestra.
The evening’s concert, entitled ‘Fiesta Orchestra’, aimed to bring members of the community together to celebrate the start of summer carnival season with a selection of music designed to get people on their feet.

The latest event in a continuing association between Withernsea High School and the Manchester Camerata Orchestra takes place in the hall this week.
On the evening of Wednesday 17th July, the orchestra will return to the school for a special performance that is open to the general public. Tickets, priced £6 each, are available in advance from Withernsea Library or are available on the door. The event starts at 7pm.
Humour and heavy metal combine for hard-hitting message on the war on plastic
In recent years, an increasing awareness of the damage plastic waste has on our oceans and the wider environment has been at the forefront of public consciousness.
With a greater number of companies, governments and individuals now actively fighting the war on plastic, the battle to reduce such waste is gaining global momentum.
