Music events hit all the right notes!

It has been a busy half term for the school’s Music department, with a range of activities and performances having taken place over recent weeks. Below are some of the highlights:

'Films to Feminism': Guest speaker sparks debate with Year 10 and 12 students

On Monday 14th May, a group of students were given an opportunity to hear words of inspiration from guest speaker Pamela Dow who visited the school thanks to the work of a UK charity.

Launched in 2011, the Speakers for Schools charity helps to inspire young people and broaden their horizons by facilitating access to the insights and experiences of some of the country’s highest achieving individuals.

Who wants to be a millionaire? Students’ reading achievements recognised

A group of seven students were today recognised for their commitment to reading after clocking up nearly 14,000,000 words read between them.

The Power Race

On Friday 4th May, 30 Year 8 students took part in ‘The Power Race’ - a STEM activity which explored the construction and efficiency of wind turbines.
