Domestic Violence Awareness for Year 9

On Tuesday 28th November, a team from East Riding’s DVAP (Domestic Violence and Abuse Partnership) visited Withernsea High School. They delivered workshops to every student in Year 9 with the aim of raising awareness about abusive relationships between teenagers.

Students watched a DVD which dramatised a relationship between teenagers and identified a range of controlling and abusive behaviours.

Second in Humanities Andrea Monaghan commented: ‘The students responded brilliantly to this sensitive and important subject and engaged well with the activities. The DVAP team all commented on how very mature, polite and welcoming our students were.’
