A-Level results open up fantastic opportunities for hard-working students of Withernsea High School

On Thursday 15th August, Year 13 students were joined by staff and parents at Withernsea High School to collect their A-level results.

For many students, their results were confirmation of the strong commitment to learning shown over the last two years – a commitment that has already led some into apprenticeships, further training and onto degree courses. For those with conditional offers from university the long wait was over, the tension was released, and they were able to celebrate securing places.

The assembly is a popular fixture in the school's events calendar and offers a unique opportunity to bring the whole school community together at the end of each academic year to celebrate achievements in all subjects across the curriculum.

It was a welcome return for the event after an absence of two years following the move in to the new school building in September 2015. The last assembly took place in July that year and became the final event to be held in the hall ahead of the school's multi-million pound rebuild and refurbishment project.

Friday’s assembly was the first formal event to be held in school since the reopening in September 2015.

During the assembly, a video documenting the journey the school has been on in the past seven years was shown to the audience. We are pleased to share this with you below:
