Position: Learning Mentor - Pupil Premium

Hours: 34 hours per week (term time only)

Salary: Point 14. £16,781 per annum pro rata

Closing date: Monday 25th September 2017

Description: Withernsea High Schools’ ethos is based on high aspirations, expectations and achievements for all. We exist to provide high quality teaching and learning experiences in a supportive and caring environment situated at the heart of our local community.

From October 2017 to 31st August 2018, we require a Learning Mentor to support learning and progress, in the English faculty.

You will work with students in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 helping them to embed knowledge, skills and understanding and to remove barriers to learning.

You will:

• Work with groups of students to deliver a pre-planned intervention programme for Key Stage 3
• Work alongside targeted students in their classes
• Deliver withdrawal sessions for targeted Key Stage 4 students

This role will be suited to those with experience working with young people possibly as teaching assistants, and/or those with an aspiration to train as a teacher.  The successful candidate will have a level 2 qualification in English.

For the above posts you should be flexible, able to work independently, meet pre-determined deadlines and possess good verbal communications skills.
