Happiness through the horror: Holocaust Survivor visits Withernsea High School to share her story

‘Mine isn’t a horror story, mine’s a happy story’ – these were the opening words of 81 year old Holocaust survivor Leisel Carter as she shared her story with Year 9 students at Withernsea High School last week.

Music department hits all the right notes

Young musicians from across the school have been kept busy over the past couple of weeks with a number of activities and events organised by the school's Music department.

From involvement in a large-scale choir event at Bridlington Spa to working with a professional orchestra and hosting their own showcase event in school, students have benefited from a wide range of opportunities and experiences.

On Wednesday 12th July, Wilberforce College hosted the annual 'Girls into Engineering' day - an inspiring, fun and practical day to encourage local school girls to pursue a career in engineering and technical fields.

The Holderness Art Show has been a favourite feature of the local calendar for many years, with a variety of local art groups, individuals, school groups and indeed professional artists exhibiting work during the dedicated annual event.
