Geography field work

Year 10 geographers have this week been out in the field collecting data for their controlled assessment. Students sketched features, measured longshore drift and sand accumulation to gather the information required to complete their study of costal processes which include erosion, transportation and deposition.

Australian visitors help celebrate school's 60 years of international connections

When Withernsea High School officially opened in April 1955, it brought together students of all abilities and backgrounds from an array of villages throughout Holderness. From its inception, the school has sought to build strong connections both in its locality and further afield in the international community - its inclusive ethos extending far beyond the classrooms.

V.E Day: Former students born on historic day celebrate their 70th birthdays

Two former Withernsea High School classmates, who were born on the day that World War II ended, celebrated their 70th Birthdays on Friday.

Bag 2 School appeal 2015

Please help us to support the Mapenane School in South Africa by recycling your unwanted textiles. Fabrics in any condition can be put in the bags (shoes, bags, clothes, soft toys, blankets, duvets) and returned to school. As an added incentive, 5 House Points will be awarded per bag received!

Man Alive!

In Autumn 1969 a BBC film crew visited Withernsea High School to record a feature on comprehensive education for 'Man Alive' - a weekly documentary and current affairs series which ran on BBC2 between 1965 and 1981.
