Following the release of last week’s A-level outcomes it was the turn of Year 11 students to return to Withernsea High School today to collect their GCSE results.
This year 54% of students gained five or more A*-C grades with 44% of students gaining the ‘Gold standard’ of five or more A*-C grades including English and Maths. In addition 98% of students achieved five or more A*-G grades.
Withernsea High School sixth form students returned to school today to collect their A-level results and were joined by several members of staff as they celebrated another year of excellent achievement.
In Year 13 the school replicated last year’s strong overall performance with a 97% pass rate across A-level and Level 3 BTEC’s. In Year 12 the overall pass rate at AS was 93%, a rise of 20% on 2014. There was also a continued improvement in the percentage of grades awarded at the very highest level with 48% of results being graded at A*-B or equivalent, a rise of 3% on 2014.
A-level results day: Thursday 13th August
Year 13 from 9.00am.
Year 12 from 10.00am.
GCSE results day: Thursday 20th August
Year 11 from 9.00am.
Year 10 from 11.00am
Start of term for Years 7, 11, 12 and 13: Thursday 10th September
Start of term for Years 8, 9 and 10: Friday 11th September.
Please be aware that there will be limited vehicle access to the school tomorrow (Thursday 13th August) due to the ongoing building works. This may affect those parents bringing children to collect A-level results. Please take extra care when on our site.
Results will be available in the HLC (Holderness Learning Centre / 6th Form Centre) from 9.00am (Year 13) and 10.00am (Year 12)
FAO: Students starting Year 12 in September
Please download the starter tasks for the subjects you have chosen for next year. Each subject has a least one task that needs to be completed for the first day back in September. Please make sure you have finished the tasks – they will form part of your first lesson.
