Faculty
Mission Statement
The Humanities subjects deal with the human experience in the past (History) over space (Geography) in communities (Law, Sociology and Psychology) and belief systems (RE). The subjects deal with important human experiences and cultural values, and develop essential skills such as cause and effect, synthesis, prioritising, classifying, forecasting and communication skills.
Characteristics of the Faculty
As a specialist Humanities College the History and Geography areas are charged with instigating and supporting change throughout the school based on the widely recognised achievements of students within these areas over a sustained period. The wide family of subjects within the faculty enables good practice and shared expertise to be communicated across a significant proportion of each student’s diet of subjects.

Student Activities
Students can expect considerable variety of lesson activity across each subject. We work hard to give students a rich and varied experience in lessons so that their interest is maintained, their enthusiasm is kindled, and their achievements can be recognised across a wide area of skill and understanding.
Students can expect to be challenged to think deeply, to make connections in their learning, to see patterns and to develop their opinions and judgements based on accurate use of evidence.
